Not the best source, but this quote came directly from Nike.

One of Woods's sponsors, which had distanced itself from him in the wake of the scandal, stepped back into the ring after Friday's speech. CNN reports that Nike issued a statement saying that after the athlete made his position clear the company fully supports Woods and his family. "We look forward to him returning to golf," says Nike.

As a sports nut I listen to sports radio for about 4 hours a day. For the last 3-4 days Tiger Woods sex life has been dominating sports talk radio. I'm about to pull my hair out.

Tiger's a POS and a huge loser. If Nike, for one minute, honestly believes this lying POS and that his apology/speech/photo-op/media appearance was sincere or carried any worth-while truthful substance… well, then they are as stupid as they appear at the moment. Nike will pull away sooner or later, I don’t think they’re as stupid as they’re comments make them out to be today.

It's just a matter of time (as with slick Willy, Tiger's *ick will be back in action across the country sooner than later). Contractual issues play a huge part at this point with Nike staying put.

Unless Tiger goes out and has another 200 women, Nike is staying put. No matter how many hookers he screws he is STILL worth more to golf than any other golfer. He started Nike Golf basically and they wont let him go after they've made millions.

Nike could have cared less about his apology. They just want to know when he's coming back and watch him win a tourney. Like I said, Carmelo Anthony did worse and the Jordan Brand stuck with him (a division of Nike) and Kobe Bryant did the same thing (just less women of course) and Nike stood behind him as well. As long as this stays woman related Nike will NOT go anywhere. If Tiger goes out and does anything worse than that then I would agree that they would drop him.

But if things stay the same and he doesnt tank like David Duval, he'll retire WITH Nike. GUARANTEED!

For me it's just lost it's luster. I enjoy the hell out of going to the beach and playing a couple of rounds with the old man, but the days of watching golf tourney's and playing the Tiger Woods game on Playstation are long over. I could've cared less if he'd have screwed 90 women, I'm still not gonna watch the tourney or buy his stuff (I play all Titliest).

Interesting, huh?...

Just goes to show how low-class and low-life Nike has become these days. "The almighty dollar". Sad. People are moving away from Nike... well, slowly but it's happening. Will it make a big enough impact? Maybe not. We'll see. There are other brands out there for golf as well as other sporting goods, equipment and apparel. I look forward to UA canning Nike garb one day as well.

Nike has no business morals or public image morals, just so they can make a buck off some sports scum figure. Their continued support of, the garbage like, Tiger resonates that fact.

Tiger's actions, along with Nike's support of the so-called "Star", is just simply bad for the "family" and "marriage" movement getting back on the right track in this country. "Family" in our society continues to take hits, and Nike's not canning Tiger's sorry azz further sends the signal to kids and young men that "screwing around on your wife, hurting the children caught in the middle, and destroying the family as a whole, is fully acceptable"... "as long as you can get rich while doing so".

Nike had and still has a chance to send out a clear signal.

I'm with bwk... it's lost its luster. I also think some had been looking for "new blood" on the circuit anyway... plus the game in general is no longer as hot a commodity as it had been in recent years. Not sure of all his "meaning" behind his post... but IMHO, Tiger's done. He'll never be what he once was. Those that have common sense and family morals will not support nor follow the buffoon any longer. I personally hope that he can take care of his family obligations and somehow make it work, at least for his children and his wife (or ex, if that happens).

In a nutshell, I'm just sick of all this (in the media) being about Tiger and his sorry azz and career. The story line should focus more on how he's damaged his family and cheated and hurt his wife and children. Who really gives a f* about Tiger at this point? Only those with no or low morals, and those that wanna make a buck off the POS.

Nike has been shitty since they started moving all their operations overseas. They arent doing anything new. The whole Air Jordan brand that made them rich done it with kids hands in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and China along with other places.

Dont bank on seeing Bama jerseys without that check mark either, Russell held the contract forever because they were local and those days are LONG GONE. We'd be dead before Nike was gone from Tuscaloosa if it happens that quickly. So no Nike has never been known to be a "class company".

Nike doesnt care what people think, thats why Tiger is still there of course. Things wont change any, its multi millions at stake.
