RE Lee vs Valdosta 2010 and 2011

Postby wgea » Sun Jan 10, 2010 3:35 am

Rumors among the Valdosta folks say the Generals will play the Wildcats next season.

Nobody knows yet if its a home and home series or if both games will be in Valdosta.

On a side note, Carrollton Ga and Oxford are also rumored to be playing each other in 2010 and 2011.

Carrollton vs. Oxford? How big is Carrollton? I'd think being around the town that it doesnt have the size of Oxford but I'm probably wrong. Used to work over that way.

RE Lee will only embarrass us.

The last time I looked at the numbers, Oxford, like Carrollton, would be a 3A school in Georgia. Meaning Carrollton would be 6A in Bama.

RE Lee would be in the high 3A / low 4A side in Georgia.

This topic got me curious about the 2010-2012 numbers in Georgia and Alabama.

Georgia's biggest and smallest football-playing schools in each classification for the 2010 season (not counting schools choosing to play up):

Biggest
AAAAA - Brookwood, 3433
AAAA - Chattahoochee, 1891
AAA - Shaw, 1418
AA - Pike County, 1014
A - Bremen, 522

Smallest
AAAAA - Shiloh, 1915
AAAA - Tucker, 1423
AAA - Jackson, 1031
AA - Greene County, 526
A - SW Atlanta Christian, 78

I haven't looked at Alabama's numbers yet.

Give them credit for trying. You can't help your football program any by scheduling the Sisters of the Poor.
